UMANUM empowers refugees and in doing so has found a group of Venezuelans with exceptional skills in Cali, Colombia. Having spent many years in the northwestern town of Barquisimeto on the Caribbean coast of Venezuela close to Colombia, our Venezuelan craftsmen work almost exclusively with the hardest commercially available wood in the world, “madera de guayacán.” For our partners in Cali, this material truly is, “the wood of life” or Lignum Vitae.

Umanum guayacán products are all handmade and unique. Our products are about exceptional quality and resilience, made by those who know exactly what these words mean
